An electric salamander grill uses high power heat elements to generate grill temperatures. These grills work by radiating heat rather than bringing food into direct contact with a conducting hot plate (like in a char grill or a griddle). Temperature can be easily controlled by adjusting the dial and also by varying the shelf position of the cooking rack to bring the food closer to the heat source.
